LENNARZ Großschirme under new management

Kerstin Stollenwerk takes over special outfitter for outdoor restaurants and cafés

The Irish writer Oscar Wilde once said that progress was the realization of utopias. Lennarz has followed this principle for more than two decades. With success. Today, the business from Geilenkirchen is one of the leading outfitters for outdoor restaurants and cafés in Germany and is also in demand as a business partner outside of Germany.

“But progress is only possible”, so German film and stage director Borleslaw Barlok, “if you break the rules intelligently”. This, too, was a reason for deciding to change the company name at the beginning of 2010:
Lennarz Großschirme became K-Design Großschirme & Windschutz GmbH

At the same time Kerstin Stollenwerk, long-time Lennarz management assistant, took over the venerable family business by means of a relaunch. “For me, K-Design is something close to my heart and a challenge all in one”, the trained media designer comments on her commitment and justifies the relaunch with the changing challenges faced by outfitters of outdoor restaurants and cafés. “In addition to functional aspects, looks and perfect presentation are becoming more and more important. We wanted to respond to this development with the new name”.

However, this did not entail a general change of course. Instead, it was important to preserve the high standards of innovation and quality and to introduce new services and products in the market to better meet the customer’s needs. “For K-Design, orientation on the customer’s needs means providing modern and innovative all-round solutions whose consultation, service and product quality is first-rate”, so Stollenwerk. Part of this was also the business principle of designing all products in-house and, to the extent possible, also produce them in-house. “Made in Germany was no empty phrase for Lennarz Großschirme and is no such thing for K-Design; rather, it is our essential corporate philosophy. This is the only way we can guarantee that our customers will in future be able to buy top quality, durable products at a reasonable price, products that meet the highest standards in terms of technology and design.”

In this context Stollenwerk fully counts on the competence and enthusiasm of the perfectly functioning Lennarz crew. The takeover and/or relaunch would not entail any changes in personnel, and there would also be no changes to the business location. “Because progress doesn’t mean breaking with traditions and the tried and true, but, entirely in line with Oscar Wilde, to realize utopias.” For Kerstin Stollenwerk, this means above all delighted and satisfied customers.
